About the Album

Zitong Wang – laureate of the Third Prize at the 2025 International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition – is featured on CDs released by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

This double album contains nearly all of the interpretations by the Third Prize winner, Zitong Wang: solo works including the Ecossaises Op. 72, Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise brillante in E-flat major Op. 22, Ballade No. 3 in A-flat major Op. 47, Mazurkas Op. 50, Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor Op. 35, and Scherzo No. 1 in B minor Op. 20, as well as Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor Op. 11.

The Blue Series of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, launched fifteen years ago and expanded with the latest competition recordings as well as historical releases, has become the richest phonographic source documenting the Chopin Competitions. Zitong Wang’s album is another valuable addition to this unique collection.
